We are 9th – 12th grade students at Columbia High School in Maplewood and South Orange, NJ that are passionate about helping others in need within our local community. As such, we have formed a club this year to do just that, becoming a high school chapter of the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newark.
We are so anxious to be able to help this Organization achieve its mission which is to: ‘Build affordable homes for low-to-moderate income families in Essex, Hudson and Union Counties. Additionally, through our robust Critical Repair program we provide the necessary repairs to keep veterans and seniors at risk of homelessness in the place they call home.”
As a high school chapter, we have the opportunity to help spread the awareness of the importance of this cause as well as directly contribute to helping others through Build Days, where we will be in the community helping to build houses and other structures in these underserved areas.
BUT – we need to raise money in order to really be able to make a difference and actually host one of these Build Days (To host a Build Day costs $2,500). Please consider helping this great cause that can do so much good for families right here in Essex County.
Please note all money raised will 100% go directly to funding our Habitat for Humanity Build Days in Essex County.
