On the morning of August 10, 2026, a magnitude 7.4 earthquake — the most powerful to strike Colombia this century — tore through the west of the country. Hundreds are dead, hundreds more are missing, and communities across western Colombia (Chocó, Valle del Cauca, Risaralda, and Caldas ) have been reduced to rubble. A national emergency has been declared.

In a catastrophe this size, there is always a group no one has time to count: Animals.

Right now, across the disaster zones, animals of every kind are trapped, injured, and starving — pets buried in collapsed homes, working animals with nowhere to go, livestock and wildlife thrown into chaos, and the companions of families who have lost everything and can no longer care for them. When people are fighting to survive, their animals get left behind — not because anyone stopped loving them, but because there is nothing left to give.

That is where we come in.

Along with Bonnie Klapper, we are the US Directors of Namigni Animal Sanctuary, a Colombia-based nonprofit (U.S. 501(c)(3)) that has spent years caring for animals everyone else gave up on. Since the earthquake struck, the founder of Namigni, Miguel Aparicio, has been flooded with reports of animals in desperate need — of many species, across many regions. We are moving to help them. But we cannot do it without you.

100% of your gift will go to our Colombian based Sanctuary who will either directly help or disburse funds for the emergency response and needs of these animals, including:

-- Emergency food and clean water for animals cut off from both
-- Veterinary care for the injured — wounds, crush trauma, shock
-- Rescue and transport out of collapsed and unsafe areas
-- Temporary shelter and supplies for displaced and orphaned animals

The window to reach affected animals is measured in days, not weeks. We will show you exactly where your money goes: updates, photos, and the animals your gift reached, as it happens.

Please give what you can — and share this, because a share reaches someone who can help when you've already done your part. In the middle of an enormous human tragedy, the animals have almost no one. Let's be the ones who don't look away.

Thank You!
