Hi friends,
Venezuela has been in a deep economic crisis with the highest inflation in the world. Unlike previous years, there are no longer shortages such as personal hygiene products and food, but the greatest difficulty is the high cost of everything. Even though the country has its own currency, people need to pay with American dollars to be able to afford the basic items that they need. The biggest problem is that Venezuelans get paid with the national currency and then have to exchange that money for American dollars, this exchange process is not an easy and simple one. American dollars are not readily available in banks or ATMs because it isn't the official currency of Venezuela. This makes it almost impossible for families to buy necessities.

Samuel and Naujeliz Parra (Juan David's sister) were full-time missionaries in Florianapolis, Brazil. They returned to Venezuela to obey God’s calling with their two-year-old son, Samuel Elias and a second baby, Lucas, on the way! They currently serve in Trino Dios Church, where they receive a monthly support of $20-$30, working in full-time ministry.
Their biggest challenge right now is being able to afford the cost of delivering baby Lucas. Naujeliz needs a c-section since the baby is entangled with the umbilical cord due to continuous movement. Naujeliz is being treated in a semi-private hospital to avoid any complications, but hospitals are being affected the most with lack of medical supplies and hands-on resources. Because of this, they will need to pay half of the cost of the child birth, estimating at around $600-$700 US dollars, as well as postpartum expenses and much more. This price could end up increasing because of the country’s economic instability.

The c-section is scheduled for February 11th, it wasn't in our plans, but it is necessary for the sake of the baby.
We are helping them but we need some extra help this time. We have created this GoFundMe campaign to raise support for their family and the new baby, they are in need of help and cannot afford to do this alone. If there is anything you would be willing to donate, every dollar helps! Our goal is to raise a minimum of $2,500 which would help to cover immediate expenses (medical supplies for the c-section) and postpartum expenses.
If you are not in a place to help financially, we ask that you would keep Samuel and Naujeliz in your prayers as they await the arrival of baby Lucas.
Thank you for helping us bring in funds to provide for their family in this time of need!
Sincerely,
Juan & Marcela Colmenares
