College Fund and future expenses for Andy's kids

Hi, my name is Stephanie Howard, I am the niece of Andy Riggins.

I am setting up this fundraiser to offer a convenient way for anyone interested to donate to a college fund and future expenses for my uncle Andy's children. Andy was an amazing dad and loved his family with all he had. He fought an incredibly courageous battle with covid-19. Although he didn't come back to us in his physical form, we know that he will always be with us in spirit. We will continue to see him in the faces and the mannerisms of his kids and remember him through countless stories. Andy was always there to help, whenever you needed anything. This is an opportunity for us all to pitch in and help those he held most dear.

Richard Andrew “Andy” Riggins, II, 57, of Six Mile, South Carolina, died Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Prisma Health-Greenville Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with COVID-19.

Born in Pickens, South Carolina he was a son of Shelba Smith Riggins and the late Richard Andrew Riggins. He graduated from DW Daniel High School and was a longtime employee of Clemson University, where he worked in the Facilities Department.

Andy was a devoted family man, follower of Christ, and faithful member of Ridgeland Drive Baptist Church. He loved and served everyone he encountered. Andy was often found behind the scenes helping in any way he could and usually without having to be asked. Never wanting to draw attention to himself, he would simply take care of things.

Surviving in addition to his mother of Six Mile is his wife, Karen Riggins of the home; a son, A.J. Riggins of the home; 4 daughters, Marenda Riggins, Rylee Riggins, Saige Riggins, Larissa Riggins all of the home; 4 sisters, Sam Howard of Central, Renee Thrift (Bobby) of Six Mile, Connie Medlock of Liberty, and Jennifer Williams of Six Mile. Andy is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathi Smith, and a brother in law, Steve Howard.
