A violent airstrike destroyed Tala’s home and that of her family. She lost her only shelter and miraculously survived with her mother and siblings. They moved to an overcrowded school being used as a shelter for displaced people—lacking privacy and facing extremely difficult humanitarian conditions: no electricity, no clean water, and not enough food. Tala suffers from constant anxiety and repeated trauma caused by the sounds of bombing. She has lost many of her friends—some were killed or are still missing under the rubble.
