Cold Tits, Warm Hearts March Daily Dip 2025
Tax deductible
For the past four years, Cold Tits, Warms Hearts has organized our annual March Daily Dip - raising over $47,000 in support of various community organizations in Hancock County, Maine. For this, our fifth year, we have decided to push our fundraising efforts in a bold and innovative direction.
Thanks to the love and support of the YWCA of Mount Desert Island , who is acting as our fiscal sponsor, the Tits are thrilled to announce the start of The Radical Love and Collective Effervescence Grant, which will support feminist activists and leaders who are coordinating or initiating radical, timely, and urgent projects in Hancock County.

The grant seeks to amplify the voices and actions of those leading the charge for change, fostering solidarity and empowering their local communities to create more just and equitable futures. Through this support, we hope to encourage innovative, bold approaches that push boundaries and create lasting impact.
Projects funded can be either personal or professional and might focus on:
- consciousness-raising work;
- creative and artistic endeavors;
- challenging and transforming systems of oppression, such as white supremacy, capitalism, and patriarchy;
- advancing reproductive health, rights, and justice;
- environmental stewardship for coastal communities;
- fostering connections that build solidarity and collaboration across diverse groups and movements;
- building networks - through participatory design - of safety, care, support, and access for marginalized populations;
- creating a more equitable and joyous world;
- empowerment and community resilience
Your financial support during the March Daily Dip will allow the Tits to provide funding for folxs based full-time in Hancock County, that:
- identifies as or is led by a woman, girl, non-binary, transgender, or intersex person;
- has demonstrated personal or professional experience and capacity to carry out the proposed project effectively;
- is engaged in work that advocates for deep, systemic change;
- is proposing a project that will benefit their local community in Hancock County;
- is a grassroots movement, collective, or community based-initiative that has limited financial resources or whose work is unlikely to receive funding from more traditional sources

How Does the March Daily Dip Work?
Every day of March, at least one member of our group will dip into the icy waters of Northern Maine to support our efforts.
But wait! There's more. Just like last year, we are upping the challenge - in hopes of upping your desire to donate! In addition to the daily dips, by at least one member of our group each day, we are also pledging to the following:
- 10 members of our group will dedicate themselves to dipping for all 31 days of the month
- Collectively, we will dip at least 175 times during the month
- Several members of our group are pledging to not only dip but also SWIM 100m every single day during the month, for a total of 3,100m swam during the month.

About Cold Tits, Warm Hearts
In November 2020, an intrepid group of (mostly) women from Mount Desert Island, Maine came together with the purpose of cold-water swimming through the winter season. We call ourselves Cold Tits, Warm Hearts - a playful and lighthearted phrase used to describe our regular winter swims in the frigid waters of the Northern Maine. Despite the cold, we gather together to enjoy the invigorating and energizing benefits of the cold water plunge. The phrase has since become a symbol of the camaraderie and resilience that can be found when people come together to challenge themselves and support one another. Our group has grown from a small handful to a large group of people who regularly join in our cold-water antics each week.
In early February 2021, our group decided that we wanted to focus some time and attention on using this seemingly wild winter activity to give back to our community. We recognize that we are incredibly privileged to be able to do what we are doing, so we try our best leverage that privilege for good. Thus, the March Daily Dip was born!
