We are raising money to set up a social enterprise - Coed Tir George.

Our Goal: Coed Tir George is a community interest company that provides woodland retreats for bereaved families. The project offers visitors a space to heal and to come to terms with their loss.

Coed Tir George arose from Andrew & Lizzie’s personal loss of their youngest son, George, sixteen years ago. Shortly after losing George, they recognised the lack of provision to support bereaved families here in Wales. Three years later, they moved to a secluded farm on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park with the idea to set this project up.

Andrew & Lizzie found that it was far too painful to go to the same places they had visited while George was undergoing treatment. Andrew says “Finding new places that had no connection to George, really helped with the healing process”.

The aim of Coed Tir George is to create safe woodland spaces on the farm for nurturing, healing and harmony. Bereaved families will be offered free holiday stays through this project.
