Honor Cody’s Legacy: Help Trinity Care for Their Beloved Pets
Dearest friends, family, and supporters,
So many of you have asked how you can help during this unimaginable time. Now that we are back home and beginning to understand what life looks like without our Cody, I wanted to create this fundraiser for my daughter, Trinity. She would never ask for help for herself, but she has always given everything she has to help others — especially animals in need.
With Cody’s tragic passing, their animals now depend solely on Trinity. Caring for them — providing food, safe shelter, and veterinary support — is not only a responsibility but also a way for her to honor Cody’s memory. He gave his life so that she could live, and she is determined to carry forward the love and compassion they shared.
Cody and Trinity spent their young lives rescuing, protecting, and loving animals. Together, they had a functional routine and opened their home to the overlooked and forgotten — dogs from the streets, neonatal kittens, feral/community cats, rabbits, and countless medical or special-needs animals. They poured their hearts into giving these animals a chance at life, whether through adoption or by making them part of their own family.
Today, Trinity continues that mission with:
• 5 large-breed dogs
• 7 indoor/outdoor cats
• 2 rabbits
Many of you know that she has volunteered countless hours fostering kittens, coordinating vet care, and helping shelters prevent animals from being euthanized, coordinating rescue efforts, fostering for adoption etc. This work was not just her passion, but also one of the most beautiful bonds she shared with Cody.
Now, she faces carrying this responsibility alone while navigating devastating grief, finishing nursing school, having to move homes, paying off their loans, living on one small income and expenses incurred in the days following the accident. Returning to work in the medical field full time will also have its own challenges after the experience that unfolded on that day.
The weight of her losing her best friend has been overwhelming, and my hope is to lift some of that burden so she can focus on healing while still keeping their pets safe and cared for.
Every donation will go directly toward:
• Nutritious food
• Veterinary care
• Safe housing for the animals
• Covering immediate and ongoing expenses tied to their care
If you prefer not to donate through this platform, we can provide more information for direct contributions or specific item needs. Every dollar, every bag of food, and every kind gesture helps Trinity keep her promise to love and protect what remains left of the family they built together.
Please be gentle with your words and hold space for the reality she faces. Living without Cody was never an option for her, yet it has become her reality. Our family is committed to paying forward the love Cody gave us, starting with protecting and caring for the animals he cherished.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping Trinity honor Cody’s legacy through the lives of their beloved pets. Whether it has been a prayer, a meal, a flower arrangement, or a donation.
