The Cocoa Dream Society is a mission-led organisation looking to be based in Croydon, dedicated to helping all children, especially those from ethnic minority backgrounds, improve their literacy and discover their creative potential through writing, journalism, drama, film and art workshops. We also want this to be a homeschooling hub for parents and a SEN centre where we offer respite care for parents.

For the past five years, Cocoa has been proudly self-funded, delivering inspiring and empowering experiences in schools and children’s centres. Now, we’re ready to expand—and we need your help to establish a permanent home right here in Croydon.

We’ve identified the ideal building: a historic three-story converted school, formerly a language institution since 1928, with 2,600 sq. ft. of usable space. With your support, we’ll transform it into The Cocoa Dream School—a vibrant creative arts and literacy hub for children, families, and the local community.

Homeschooling Hub – a dedicated space offering creative and educational workshops tailored for home-educated children.

SEN Respite Centre – a calm, safe space for children with special educational needs and a lifeline for parents needing time and support.

Children’s Journalism Writing Clubs & Workshops – cultivating young voices and aspiring reporters from a young age.

Children’s Drama Clubs – sparking confidence and imagination through performance and storytelling.

Book Club Sessions – encouraging a love of reading and literacy.
