Coast Shelter in memory of Jacob Martin

Hi my name is Ben Baker, almost 12 months ago we lost Jacob, he was a fantastic friend, brother, son and cousin to so many!

Prior to Jacobs passing, we were traveling in the car one day and a school friend (Blake) called, Jacob had not spoken to Blake for a number of years and in Jacob fashion, he proposed to catch up with Blake to have a beer, Blake went on to say to Jacob that he doesn't drink anymore, it was at this point Jacob was fascinated and asked Blake how he had given up alcohol.

Jacob went on to say that he would like to be able to go one year without alcohol.

After Jacob's passing, i chose to have a break from alcohol, initially setting myself the target of 3 months, once i got to 3 months my next challenge was 6 months and so on.

I am now counting down the days to reach my target 23/6/2022, this will be exactly a year that i have abstained from alcohol.

The year has been challenging, but i have kept true to my commitment and feel that i am not only achieving this for myself but for Jacob aswell.

Jacob had a huge heart and often donated to others that were less fortunate than himself and it is fitting that this gofundme fundraiser will benefit  Coast Shelter.

The donation will be made in Jacobs name.

Please dig deep and donate what you can afford, i know Jacob would be watching down and cheering me on.

I love you Jacob and i miss you mate, thank you for giving me the strength to reach 'our' goal of one year without alcohol.
