The Big Flush!

Thank you for taking a minute to read my campaign.
As many of you know over the past 4 years I have been helping Orgyen Khamdroling transform their historic church into a Tibetan Buddhist Temple. What some of you may not know is that I all of the work I've done has been unpaid volunteer work.
Together with the congregation we have logged over 18,000 hours tranforming the sanctuary into a magnificent Buddhist Shrine room, I personally have volunteered over 7000 hours working on this transformation. It has been both an honor and a privilege to have led this massive volunteer effort. Once again I have the opportunity to serve as we embark on the center's largest and most complex project yet. The Big Flush!
The Big Flush is a complete overhaul of the centers plumbing and electrical systems. The Big Flush will create beautiful new men's and women's restrooms, add a restroom on the main floor and add a full bath on the 2nd floor. As well as create a beautiful space for visiting teachers to stay while at the center. The Big Flush is the first phase in our accessibility plan and will bring all of the center's bathrooms into compliance with the American's with Disabilities Act.
The congregation has raised nearly $60,000 to cover the cost of the skilled trades and all of the construction supplies. However, with the complexity and scope of the project we will not be able to complete the project without a full time effort. To complete the project by Aug 1st I will need to devote the next 10-12 weeks working full time on the project. I will not be able to take on any paying jobs during the Big Flush and so I am raising funds to cover my living expenses for the next 3 months. Your donation to this effort will help insure that the Big Flush will be completed in time for the Golden Statue Consecration in Aug.
Working with Anyen Rinpoche and the congregation on this transformation has been the most meaningful thing I have done in my life. In the past my responsibilities were very few and so I didn't need to worry about financial matters during any of the projects. Things change and my life has become more complex and my financial responsibilities have multiplied making it necessary for me to ask for your help. With the help of your donations I will be able to complete this project on time and not worry about whether or not I'll be able to pay my rent. Your donation will make it possible for me to fully devote myself to the Big Flush for the next 3 months.
