Dear friends, family and anyone who knows Susan,

As you may or may not know, earlier this year my mum was diagnosed with T3 Bowel Cancer.

While the doctors have caught it fairly early and believe it will be curable, this puts my mum in the difficult situation that she will need to take a break from work for roughly the next 12 months. With no sick pay or employer support given her working situation and the laughable support provided by government bodies, my mum needs help (though she would never ask).

Ever since I was old enough to understand the meaning of 'selflessness', I have seen my mum demonstrate it on a near day-to-day basis. She is an extremely hard-working woman who has always put others first and would give her last penny to help anyone who needs it. Now, sadly, she finds herself in a position where she may not have a penny to give and it's now our turn to give back to her.

While her close family will be doing whatever they can to support, I know that many of you would love to help support her too during this difficult time and would not like to see her struggle.

Our goal may sound ambitious but it works out at roughly £830 a month - enough to help cover rent, bills, travel to and from the treatment centre and anything else to relieve some financial stresses. Meaning Susan can focus on her health and recovery. I know that many of you care deeply for her and would love to help in any way you can.

Any donation, no matter how small, would make a significant difference. If you're not able to contribute financially (times are difficult enough at the moment as is), please know that your emotional support and well-wishes are just as appreciated.
