Help a 82d Abn Div Veteran (single mom) fight for stability

I am an 82d ABN Vet single mom of 2 who has struggled supporting 3 persons (myself and my kids) for the past 20+ years. I was brought up, I should never depend on anyone but myself, so this is me, asking for help in extreme need. I’m in foreclosure and desperately want to stay in my house with my kids. My youngest child has been rather sickly over the years which has hindered my ability to work. I’d love to get my kid back on track after the surgery by hiring a tutor so she can graduate with her own class this year, and go on to community college. And I’d also love help with these medical bills that have just been piling up over the years.

Me? I’ve been getting a little over $300 from the VA for my own issues that were caused by hitting the ground after ‘jumping out of perfectly good airplanes’ several times a year while serving as a paratrooper in the US Army - and have hired a lawyer to challenge them because I have L4 and L5 disc damage in my spine (I have sciatica down both legs, the right leg is a constant pain that won’t go away without nerve blocking meds…and the left leg, the pain shoots down randomly when I walk). But I’m getting some physical therapy for this in the meantime.

Gabby’s Story: My younger child was diagnosed with diabetes at 6 years old and she’s had it really tuff. There were a number of years I couldn’t work because the daycares refused to give her injections, but we somehow scraped by. Throughout the years she has been rather sickly. She Wakes up in the middle of the night, mom, every bone in my body hurts…mom, i have ketoacidosis… the insulin is keeping me up again and I can’t fall asleep… dehydration… we even went thru a scare during covid season where her platelets were extremely low and for 4 months the drs thought she may have leukemia or a bad spleen (they tested her for every virus that caused that and those were all negative) eventually she cleared whatever virus she had and her platelets rose back to normal. So last year she had came down with a chronic sore throat, the Dr finally tested her for Mono. I was thanking God that they came up with some kind of diagnosis besides she has a chronic sore throat that won’t go away - but she was exhausted and missed so much school she still has last years classes on top of this years. So after summer ended she is still struggling with the sore throat, after many many multiple visits to the ER because they thought she had an abscess on her right tonsil - they discovered nodules on her thyroid. She had a biopsy to find that they (the thyroid nodules) were not cancer (again, Thank God!). Now she is scheduled a tonsillectomy where the hospital will be removing her adenoids as well. I’m praying that this works out in her favor and starts feeling better. She has missed probably 80% in her classes for this school year and has fallen way behind on this year as well.

My eldest is in University as of right now, in Iowa. She’s quite independent, very smart, and always puts her best foot forward. Though she does have some financial support going towards her tuition costs and other things like that, I still want to make sure she’s completely taken care of so she doesn’t have to worry about finances while in University.

Overall, the ultimate goal is to get past this situation and get more stability in order to get to where we need to be. I want to succeed, I want my children to succeed, we just need a little help getting there.

If you could even give just a dollar, that would be wonderful. I know times are hard for everyone, so if you cannot donate directly - please do me and my family the favor of sharing our story and carrying out message along to different platforms and people in order to achieve our goal.

Thank you so much for your time, again please consider donating if you can! (No hard feelings if you cannot… Please share instead if that is the case!)
