My brother, Cloyd Edralin- a permanent resident since 1988 (green-card holder), was taken in by ICE while on his way to work on 06/04/18 at 6am. They were waiting outside for him to step off the property so they could verify his name and take him away from his family.
Cloyd is currently in detention awaiting deportation proceedings for a conviction, that he already paid for (with fines and probation) back in 2007. Federal statute of limitations is five years but apparently ICE can make their own rules. Cloyd had renewed his Green Card with USCIS over 3 years ago with No issues. He never received a Notice to Appear regarding this issue with USCIS (or any other agency).
Cloyd currently does not have a court date on the Master Calendar so he just sits in the Detention Center, waiting.
The money raised will assist with legal expenses and help the family pay for necessities due to Cloyd’s lost income.
Our family plan to re-donate the excess money raised to an organization to support other immigrant families in similar situations.
