CLOTHES DRIVE , Youth work students at RMIT
Hi! We are students studying Youth Work at RMIT University. We are currently working with Youth Projects to help provide urgent assistance for youth who are at-risk of homeless.
The ABS Census (2016), states that almost 25,000 Victorians are classified as homeless. Every day, 99 people (1 in 6) are turned away from homelessness services due to a lack of housing and resources. We can’t let these numbers increase.
We are raising funds for Youth Projects Organisation, who will commit to providing outreach services for young people in need of vital items that can reduce their risk of experiencing homelessness. This includes distributing work clothes, money for transport, phones, and phone credit – all essential items to obtain employment and maintain a stable income.
Times are hard, everyone has been impacted due to COVID-19 and employment is at an all-time low. Now, more than ever young people who are at-risk need our help.
Help us keep young people off the street and safe from a life of disadvantage.
