Let me tell you about my incredible nephew, Caleb - a young man whose strength, faith, and determination have inspired everyone around him.

In May 2022, at just 16 years old, Caleb was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM), an aggressive and invasive form of brain cancer. At the time, he was looking forward to his senior year of high school and playing trombone in the marching band. The diagnosis was devastating, but Caleb and his family have been fighting with unwavering courage ever since.

Despite undergoing intense chemotherapy and radiation, Caleb graduated high school in May 2023 - a testament to his perseverance. Since then, he’s been on some type of life extending therapy constantly, including rounds of chemo, radiation, and most recently, a cutting-edge device therapy called Optune. Through it all, Caleb has remained focused on living life to the fullest. He’s now a junior at the University of Florida (remotely) - Go Gators!

Earlier this year, doctors struggled to find further treatment options after a concerning MRI. However, God is mighty and works miracles every day. Caleb’s journey is a story of miracles. With renewed hope, he’s preparing to join a clinical trial in Maryland later this month, pending final lab results. This trial involves a promising new chemotherapy drug still in development - another step forward in Caleb’s fight.

Caleb continues to defy the odds and inspire us all. This new clinical trial opportunity is just another step in God's plan. But this next chapter comes with significant financial challenges. His mom, Terra, will be by his side every step of the way, but the costs of travel, lodging, food, and time away from work are overwhelming. God provides at every turn, and we continue to be faithful, but we need some help with the earthly side of it.

Here’s what the next few months look like:

• Two treatment cycles, each lasting about 24 days of inpatient care and monitoring.

• Four round-trip flights between Florida and Maryland for Caleb and Terra.

• Extended time off work for Terra, who has already exhausted nearly all her PTO over the past three years.

• Lodging and transportation, which are difficult to secure through charitable organizations due to timing and availability.

After the first two months/cylces, visits to Maryland and the clinical trial team will thankfully ease up to just once a month.
