HIKING THE SEVEN HILLS FOR GB GREECE DEPLOYMENT
Donation protected
Hi everyone! On the 29th June 2025, my friends and I from The University of Edinburgh will be taking on the challenge of hiking The Seven Hills of Edinburgh in one day to raise funds for Global Brigades UK, a charity that tackles global inequality by delivering sustainable, human-centred legal, health and development aid to vulnerable populations.
As part of GB's Leadership Internship, I will be volunteering in Athens in September to help combat the refugee crisis through providing legal aid and supporting access to healthcare for rural communities.
I am aiming to raise £500 to help cover my deployment costs — including travel, accommodation, and training — so I can contribute directly to GB’s impactful work.
In 2023, Greece received nearly 58,000 asylum applications, and approximately 192,000 refugees were located in Greece—a nearly 20% increase from the previous year. Many who continue to face a lack of access to representation during asylum procedures, long waiting periods for case resolutions, including family reunification for minors, detention and deportation. Volunteering on the ground with GB is a vital opportunity to support humanitarian efforts.
Any donation, big or small, will help me reach my goal and take one step closer to making a difference.
Thank you for your support!
