Help 1st Clifton Scouts Recover from Vandalism
We are 1st Clifton Scouts in Nottingham, and we’re heartbroken to share that our group has recently suffered vandalism. Our gas canisters were emptied, and our storage cage was broken into, leaving us without some of the equipment we rely on for camps, weekly activities, and our end-of-year celebrations.
Scouting means so much to the 100 young people we support here in Clifton. It’s not just about badges and camping – it’s about learning resilience, teamwork, and practical skills for life, all while making friends and having fun. Everything we do is run by volunteers who give their time freely, because we believe every child deserves the chance to experience the adventures and opportunities that Scouting brings.
The response from our community has been incredible. Local groups, families, and even The Glapton Academy have already reached out with offers of kindness and support, which means the world to us. But replacing this vital equipment still comes at a big cost, and we want to avoid raising subscription fees – because that would risk making Scouting inaccessible to some of our families.
That’s why we’re asking for your help. Whether it’s a small donation or simply sharing this appeal, you’ll be helping us keep Scouting open to all, ensuring our young people don’t miss out on the adventures and experiences they deserve.
Thank you, from all of us at 1st Clifton Scouts, for your kindness and support. Together, we can make sure Scouting in Clifton stays strong and continues to give our young people skills for life.
