My name is Joe Mittiga – Founder of ProjectSmile.world, global speaker, TEDx presenter, and author of WE! and Healing Addiction. Through our livestream, The Smile, we reach over 40,000 viewers every two weeks—spreading stories of hope, healing, and transformation.
Today, I want to share one story that has captured my heart. A story that is changing lives—and can change even more with your help.
Meet Biyinzika Yusuf – A Life Turned Into Purpose
Biyinzika grew up in hardship. Abandoned by his father and losing his mother at the tender age of 12, he had no safe home to turn to. Many nights, he slept cold and hungry on the streets.
One morning, after a long night in the rain, a kind woman found him. She took him in and loved him as her own. That act of compassion changed the course of his life.
Now, Biyinzika has devoted his life to doing the same for others. He is the founder of Hope Haven Foundation, a registered charity in Mityana, Uganda. Together with his team, he cares for 25 orphans—children as young as one and as old as sixteen—providing food, shelter, safety, and love. The foundation also supports elderly members of the community, proving that kindness multiplies when shared.
Why I Believe in Him
For the past three months, I’ve personally invested in Biyinzika’s mission helping secure safe housing, supporting his small business for sustainability, and building a foundation of fresh water, food, and shelter for these kids.
