Clean water for Tim & Deb
Donation protected
Hi everyone! Tim and Deb Hooker, my parents, have sacrificed a lot of comfort for other priorities over the years—a lot of which was ensuring my wellbeing and success, which I am incredibly grateful for. I’ve also seen my mom devote a lot of time to volunteering, and my dad’s generosity to help others, even complete strangers. They are a couple of the most caring people I know, and always emphasized the importance of being a giver, not a taker. And often times, the most generous of people have difficulty receiving gifts from others. So I thought I would try to give a portion to them (without them knowing so they can’t object to it!) and show that there are many people who are also happy and willing to help or someone else.
My parents have had some rough times over the years and more so recently. I have often wished I could provide something to relieve the stress. I can’t financially pick up all their burdens for them, but I can ask for help for them. “It takes a village” as they say. After 30 years of making (and remaking) an old trailer habitable for them, it is finally time for a new chapter. They are buying a new mobile home to replace their old one on their property in the coming months. It’s exciting but overwhelming, especially when they need a more reliable heating source and still have water that is unfit to drink there. The latter is what I want to focus on with this fundraiser, to help keep them from the temptation to “just make do” with what they have always tolerated. The iron in the water is so strong that it stains appliances and the bathroom. With the new home, it would be so nice to not have iron stains, to be able to wash their clothes in their home, and maybe even drink their own water. I’m hoping we can raise at least $5000 to get an iron removal system installed. I so appreciate any donation that comes, and I know my parents will too. It will be so good for them to know how many people care and want to help out when given the chance. Just keep this on the down-low for now! I want to surprise them once this is completed THANK YOU
