Clean Water for a Village Near Lusaka, Zambia

Donation protected
During a recent trip to Zambia, I had the opportunity to connect with the Chifwema village community located in the outskirts of Lusaka who are facing a daily struggle for clean water. The residents, including many families and children, currently have no direct access to a water source. Each day, they walk long distances to purchase water from those who have wells, then transport it home in large drums. Because the drums are heavy, they roll them along the ground, often losing half the water before reaching home. This process is exhausting and time-consuming, taking away precious hours from work, school, and family life.

The lack of a local well means that children and parents alike spend much of their day just trying to secure enough water for basic needs. This not only affects their health and hygiene but also limits opportunities for education and personal growth. With a well in the village, families would have more time to focus on family time, household needs, and schoolwork. It would also reduce the physical strain and health risks associated with carrying and rolling heavy water drums over long distances.

By supporting this fundraiser, you’ll help bring lasting change to a community that truly needs it. Your contribution will go directly toward building a well, providing clean and accessible water, and giving families the chance to thrive. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of these villagers and help them build a brighter, healthier future.
