Clean drinking water for an entire community

On my most recent trip to Uganda, I was introduced to the technology to turn river water into clean drinking water to 99.9% efficacy. The best part: produced for single home use, with no power required and for a price most of us wouldn’t hesitate to spend on lunch. So, without hesitation, I bought the unit for my long time friend Bwambale John.
And then, it got me thinking. What if we could provide clean drinking water for the entire community of Kyarumba? There are approximately 800 families with the average family having 5-6 people or more… what kind of impact could we have then?
Clean water is a human right and necessary to allow people a chance to thrive and reach their potential. But the other consideration is the opportunity cost on women without it. Women spend hours daily collecting firewood to then build a fire to then boil the water collected by them or their daughters. What if we could give them each an hour back in their day? What could that mean for supporting their kids education, spending more time on a side business or even allowing rest to be a better version of themselves?
Bwambale John, his wife Janerose and I are going to make this happen. With your help, I will bring in the funds, they will ensure the delivery and the education around using the filter system.
Let’s not overthink it. For $25 CAD, you can literally change the lives of an entire family.
