I am Desrick Campbell, a past student of the Clarksonville Primary School and resident of Cave Valley and the adjoining villages of Clarksonville, Higgin Town, Cedar Valley, Aboukir, Bog Hole, and Aneon Town. I am currently living in Florida, and other past students who live in the States have joined in the motion to seek help for our communities. We have family members, friends, and great neighbors back home. This area is dependent on farming for the majority of the livelihood for the residents.
Hurricane Melissa has destroyed all the farms and has caused major flooding and wind destruction never seen in the area before. Rooftops have been blown off and houses flooded out, leaving feet of mud in buildings. These communities are experiencing weeks, if not months, of no electricity, no running water, limited food supplies, and other necessities to use on a daily basis.
It is with great emotions and heartfelt feelings that we are seeking your help with donations, which are greatly needed and will be greatly appreciated by the needy and those unable to fend for themselves. Money earned by this GoFundMe will be used to acquire food supplies and other necessities needed by the community members.
