Clarity's Roof and Health Urgently Need Help

Clarity is a freshly 70-year-old trans elder in the Eastern Oregon 2SLGBTQIA+ community. She has lived a life full of art, music and creative drive.

I first met Clarity before her transition back in 2010 while she was still playing woodwinds and brass with chipped teeth and a take-no-shit/leave-no-shit attitude. Her music, inspired by pure emotion and avant-garde made her one of the most sought after performers with many of the local jazz and blues ensembles.

Today, she has bloomed into the beautiful woman you see in the above photo and I couldn’t be more blessed to still have her as a friend. Although she try’s to maintain the same meditative and spiritual practices as before, her life has been greatly affected by the current ant-trans legislation. As well as the failing economy, poor health care practices and all the other things wrong with this country that make our lives harder.

Her means of getting by have been slowly taken away due to the current Overton window in the INW. The roof of her house is literally starting to cave in and her healthcare has been raised to almost twice as what she was quoted, and that’s with insurance.

So I ask all of you to please donate what you can to help her. Let’s get her roof replaced and keep her healthy for as long as we can. Let’s honor and thank our trans elders. She’s made it this far and with a little extra help out here, I’m hoping she will stick around a bit longer.

To help her reach her goal, I’ve taken some of her art and made graphics by request. She would like to share with you some of her ideas and philosophies regarding life, interconnectedness and just celebrating trans JOY as much as possible during this dark time.
