Meet Clarice, a sweet seven-year-old domestic short hair cat from New York who has Gastrointestinal Lymphoma-Large cell. She needs chemotherapy, using the CHOP method to administer 16 treatments across 25 weeks. She has completed her first 3 treatments that are estimated to cost $250-$1,500 per treatment. Paws 4 A Cure is providing a $400 grant, but her mom is trying to raise $3,500 for the remainder of the funds that Clarice needs to move forward with the treatment.
Her loving mom has shared their heartfelt story, which you can read—along with more adorable photos—on Clarice’s fundraising page.
You can help make a life-changing difference for Clarice and her family by making a tax-deductible donation toward her veterinary care. Every dollar brings him closer to healing.
If you’re unable to donate, simply sharing her fundraising page helps spread the word and brings us closer to our goal.
Thank you for being a part of Clarice’s journey. Let’s give him the chance he deserves.
“Clarice is a sweet, ethereal 7-year-old tabby. I took her in for testing after noticing distressed meows and finding blood clots around her litterbox. The veterinarian found a clementine-sized tumor in her abdomen that was later confirmed to be large-cell lymphoma. This is a fast-growing, high-grade cancer of white blood cells that is most often hereditary.
The vet recommended chemotherapy, specifically the CHOP method, which is a 25-week cycle of 16 treatments. This week was her third round of chemo and I am happy to report she is already in much higher spirits – back to waking me up each morning and running to greet me at the door. With 13 treatments remaining, I am hoping to raise enough money to continue getting her the help she needs.
I raised Clarice from a shy kitten who hid for days on end to the vocal, larger-than-life lady she is now. Clarice is my best friend, my heart, my muse. I couldn’t imagine home without her.
To the donors, I cannot thank you enough for your generous support in helping Clarice. Your kindness is making a real difference in giving her the chance at a long, happy life filled with love. If you've ever lived with a pet, you know how valuable that time is.
With the generous help from my community and pet organizations (including Paws 4 A Cure!), I can cover nearly $8K of treatment. I’m asking for an additional $3,500 to cover the remaining cost of chemotherapy.
Seeing people like you choose to show up for a stranger's pet makes my heart so full. I hope you can feel the difference you make in each person's life. I'm eager for the day I can pass this kindness on and return the favor to someone else in need!”
