The Claremont Public Art Committee has partnered with several local groups on a project to create a lasting, community piece of art to represent the COVID-19 Pandemic. It will become a collective expression of thought and experiences for future generations to not only see but to be a part of. People of all ages will help create a piece of a puzzle. The individual or family will decorate a piece of a puzzle using words, pictures, drawings, and color representing how they have felt during the pandemic. Words of gratitude to essential workers, a thank you to our educators, our parents, our children; call it a reflection piece. The individual puzzle pieces will be collected, glazed, sealed, and grouped together to form a display. The installation might be given the ability to grow over time, much like ourselves.
This project is not possible without your kind donation. The Mud Shack has been incredibly kind and donated 1,000 ceramic tiles to be used in this special project. The specialized paint, glazing and finishing does however incur a small cost.
We are suggesting a $5 donation for each kit. This kind donation will go directly to the Mud Shack to help offset the cost of labor and materials.
We hope you enjoy participating in this project and can not wait to see what we can all create together.
Thank you for your help,
The Claremont Public Art Committee - Covid 19 Team,
The City of Claremont,
We Care Claremont,
Claremont Chamber of Commerce,

***Update Aug 8th 2020 - we have extended our return deadline thru the end of Aug. Please return your completed tile to the Mud Shack. Call ahead to check opening hours.
