Volunteer Trip to Nicaragua

Hello everyone! My name is Claire Culley and I'm a freshman at Penn State University. This June, I will be going on a volunteer excursion with GIVE Volunteers to Nicaragua, a country facing climate change, rising sea levels, and a 22% illiteracy rate.

For 2 weeks, fellow volunteers and I will be take part in many activities that can change the lives of Nicaraguans and the environment. We will help build sustainable, eco-friendly infrastructure like schools, will teach children and young women English as a second language, and will even be a part of the Sea Turtle Head Start Program to help increase the survival rate of Nicaragua’s 4 different species of sea turtles. (See more on the volunteer projects we do here!)

I created this fund so I can pay for the trip. Dues go toward supplies such as concrete for building and books for teaching, living accommodations, transportation, food, clean water, cultural immersion activities, and my flight + passport fees.

I'm so excited for this life-changing opportunity and truly epic adventure. This donation is not like a simple charity donation where you hope you make an impact; your money goes directly to my activities that help the children and families of Nicaragua. Together, we can change this community, and possibly even the world! ¡Gracias!
