Claire and Hector

Hey everyone,

As you will know, it is over 5 years since our lovely Claire was in the UK, visiting in 2019 for my wedding. She was already missing everyone so much at that point, but life was moving along well for her on the other side of the world. She has been living in Australia for a long time now and feels it is the right time to move back to her family and friends. After having lived side-by-side with her beloved Hector - Australian kelpie and best buddy - she is not willing to leave him behind.

Though Claire has wanted to come back for visits, she hasn't been allowed to leave the country without risk of being refused back in. Unfortunately, due to Covid setbacks, Claire was unable to establish a permanent visa to remain in Aus, though she spent a lot of money trying. Now that she is ready to leave, in order to get home, she needs some financial support. Many raised will pay for the certificates and vaccinations etc. required for Hecror to travel to the UK, as well as flights for him and Claire.

I know that so many who know Claire and have spent time with her over the years - riding, playing basketball, singing, finding 'true north', chatting endlessly (that girl can talk!), dancing - will have missed her enormously and be super happy to have her back in proximity less than half way around the globe! There will be many reasons we want to see Claire, but particularly for me (as her little, not-so-little sister) I want her to finally meet her niece. Though Claire dutifully read the whole of the Winnie-the-Pooh collection of stories to May, they have barely seen each other in proper light due to time differences since she was born in 2022. Time is hurrying by.
