CJ was brought into a kill shelter and abandoned there. He was either already sick or became sick while he was there, but by the time we saved him from the kill shelter, he was already not feeling well.

Very quickly, CJ began to decline. He became lethargic, stopped eating completely, and it became clear that things were not looking good. We knew we couldn’t wait. CJ was rushed to the emergency hospital, where he was unfortunately diagnosed with severe pneumonia. Because pneumonia is extremely dangerous, he had to be hospitalized immediately. We are hopeful that we got him there in time to save his precious life.
