City Harvest X NYC Marathon 2022

Growing up in New York City, I have always felt the importance of making a difference in the lives of those around me. One issue that affects everyone, especially those less fortunate, is food waste. We see food wasted daily at restaurants, grocery stores, bakeries and farms. In fact, there is enough food waste in New York City to feed every individual who qualifies as food insecure. In other words, this is a very solvable problem, but it requires our sufficient attention and a willingness to help.
City Harvest is one of, (if not) the best organization at combatting food insecurity and food waste in NYC. The organization has received a 92% rating on Charity Navigator, a rating of 4 stars and a platinum seal from GuideStar for transparency. As New York City’s largest food rescue organization, they’ve saved 950 million pounds of food from going to waste.
After volunteering with City Harvest regularly since March of 2022, I have gained a first-hand look into the quality of people and work associated with City Harvest. As a result, it has become my mission to help combat food insecurity and food waste with City Harvest on a larger scale. Thus, I am dedicating my 2022 NYC TCS Marathon race to raising money for City Harvest so that no New Yorker goes to sleep hungry. Please join me in our mission to fight food insecurity and food waste in New York City.
With Love,
