We are a small, local, independent charity who are members of the national Citizens Advice network. We are committed to delivering free and impartial advice to anyone in their local area. We help people with benefits, debt, housing, family relationships, utility bills and much more. We help families maximise their incomes, and make sure everyone gets all that they are entitled to. We campaign on local and national issues and talk directly to MPs, local authorities and decision makers to put your stories to them.
We have a small paid management team, but we are fortunate to have over 50 volunteers who have received thorough and intensive training to deliver the best advice in Britain. We still need to pay for our offices and our electricity bills.
We rely on funding from our local authorities. They provide over half of the money we need. We do not get any money from National Citizens Advice or the national government. Each year we make applications to many different grant funds, but this year we have seem a massive drop in the availability of grants and the money we are getting in. We are nearly £100,000 worse off than last year.
We are making all the cuts we can to keep the service running, but we need more help.
£5 will pay our electric bill standing charge for a week.
£10 will pay for a whole week of email and office software.
£25 pays the cost of a volunteer's telephone for a year
£50 is about what it costs us to send a volunteer to an outreach session
£100 is our monthly insurance bill
£250 would pay for one week's rent of our Honiton office
£500 allows us to buy a new laptop, mouse and software for a new volunteer.
And if you would like to donate more please get in touch and we can talk about our projects and problem areas!
Thank you for your interest and your kind support.
