Help us finish a documentary that will help save babies’ lives in Namibia

In Namibia, a heartbreaking crisis is unfolding quietly.

In the Erongo region alone—just one of the country’s 14 regions—an average of 22 babies are abandoned every month. Some are found alive. Most are not. And because this number represents only one region, the real national figure is far higher.

Amid this silent tragedy, one woman decided to act.

Ronel Peters installed a baby-saver box in the wall of her own home—a safe, anonymous, and compassionate place where mothers in desperate situations can leave their babies instead of abandoning them in unsafe locations. She did this because she believes deeply that every baby deserves to live and be loved.

This belief became the foundation of the Ruach Elohim foundation, which Ronel formally established in 2018. “Ruach Elohim” means Breath of God—a reminder that every child is created with purpose and value.

Since then, Ronel and her team have taken in over 100 babies, offering them safety, love, education and medical care. Many have since been adopted into forever families—children who might otherwise have been left for dead are now cherished, celebrated, and given a future filled with possibility.

Why we are raising funds

To help raise global awareness—and to help bring financial support to the foundation—our dear friend Michaela Von Seydlitz and her husband Noah have spent the last three years creating a documentary film about Ronel’s extraordinary life, her calling to rescue vulnerable babies, and the lifesaving impact of the baby-saver box.

They are 90% finished, with filming and most editing complete.

But they now need help covering the final costs of post-production (including color grading, sound mastering, score composition, studio recording, final editing, graphics, marketing etc.) So this documentary can be completed and released into the world.

Once finished, the film will be submitted to international film festivals and screened worldwide, becoming a powerful tool to:

• Expose this urgent social crisis

• Share Ronel’s courageous story

• Inspire support for the Ruach Elohim foundation

• Raise funds to expand the baby-saver box initiative and provide care for more babies in need

This documentary will not only tell a story—it will save lives by directing global attention and resources to a crisis that few people even know exists.

En Namibia estamos asistiendo a una desgarradora crisis. Solo en la Región de Erongo - una de las 14 regiones del país - 22 bebés son abandonados, de media, cada mes. Algunos sobreviven, pero la mayoría son encontrados muertos. Esta cifra, que representa únicamente una región, implica que el número real a nivel nacional es mucho mayor. En medio de esta tragedia silenciosa, una mujer decidió actuar. Ronel Peters instaló lo que denomina como “buzón salva-bebés” en la pared de su propia casa: un lugar seguro, anónimo y compasivo donde las madres en situaciones desesperadas pueden dejar a sus bebés en lugar de abandonarlos. Así, Ronel tomó la iniciativa porque cree profundamente en que cada bebé merece vivir y ser amado. Esta convicción se convirtió en la base de la Fundación Ruach Elohim, que Ronel estableció formalmente en 2018. “Ruach Elohim” significa Aliento de Dios, un recordatorio de que cada niño es creado con propósito y valor. Desde entonces, Ronel y su equipo han recibido más de 100 bebés, ofreciéndoles seguridad, amor, educación y atención médica. Muchos han sido adoptados por familias permanentes: niños que podrían haber sido abandonados hasta morir, ahora son queridos y celebrados. ________________________________________ Por Qué Estamos Recaudando Fondos 

Para ayudar a crear conciencia global —y generar apoyo financiero para la fundación— nuestra querida amiga Michaela von Seydlitz y su marido Noah, han pasado los últimos tres años creando un documental sobre la extraordinaria vida de Ronel, su llamada a rescatar bebés vulnerables y el impacto salvador de la caja salva-bebés. El documental está al 90%, con la grabación y edición ya casi completas. Pero ahora necesitan ayuda para cubrir los costes finales de la postproducción (incluyendo gradación de color, masterización de sonido, composición musical, grabación en estudio, edición final, gráficos, marketing, etc.). Solo así, podrá completarse y presentarse al mundo.
