Ciara and Nikeisha’s Snowdon Climb for PADS

On 21st March 2026 – World Down Syndrome Day – We will be climbing Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales, to raise funds for Positive About Down Syndrome (PADS), a charity that has been our rock throughout Aria’s journey.

From the moment I learned Aria had a diagnosis of Down syndrome, PADS offered invaluable guidance, reassurance, and support. As Aria’s mum, their advice gave me hope in uncertain times and prepared me for the challenges ahead.

Aria’s start in life was incredibly tough. She underwent her first open heart surgery at just 10 days old, and a second at 6 months old. Those early months were filled with fear, uncertainty, and endless hospital visits. Through it all, PADS connected us with a “heart buddy” – another family who had walked this path – giving me comfort, understanding, and the knowledge that we were not alone. Their yearly family meet-ups have since allowed us to meet other incredible families, share stories, and celebrate the small and big victories together.

Climbing Snowdon is our way of honouring Aria’s courage, resilience, and unbreakable spirit, while also giving back to a charity that has given so much to families with children with Down Syndrome.

Every donation, big or small, helps PADS continue to support families, provide guidance to parents, challenge misconceptions, and ensure children with Down syndrome are celebrated and given every opportunity to thrive.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting Aria and the life-changing work of Positive About Down Syndrome.
