Starting again

We never imagined we’d find ourselves here once more. But after everything we’ve been through, and after many gentle conversations with friends, family and our incredible Instagram following who know our journey, we’ve been encouraged to set this up. We have savings, but after hitting a lot of financial difficulties in the past few months that were completely out of our control, we honestly thought we would have to park our IVF journey. Our car became completely irreparable overnight, resulting in us having to dip into our savings to buy a new run-around car. Amy’s photography studio delivered an electric bill 1.6k which is absolutely impossible.. and despite disputing and fighting this, it would be more expensive to fight this case vs paying it. (Amy has since moved studios to avoid any more electric bill but that of course came with cost of deposit and first months rent). Then lastly, due to Cians Visa.. she needs to pay tax. We estimated the cost based on last years but unknown to us, it was a lot more expensive. All of this combined has meant we needed to dip into the savings we had worked so hard for. In order to build our savings back up to where it was, it would take us another year, which we fear with Cian getting older. After everything we’ve learned, we understand now that accepting help doesn’t mean giving up, it means allowing people who care about us to stand with us. Thank you for the kindness you all have already shown us. We wouldn’t be here, ready to fight again without it. The full story Cian met Amy and fell in love almost instantly. What followed was years of fighting just to be together, emotionally, financially, and practically. We navigated visas, paperwork, long waits, and constant uncertainty. Securing Cian’s visa was exhausting and expensive, but we did it because building a life together mattered more than anything else. Once we were finally able to stand in the same place and plan a future, we turned to IVF with hope and cautious optimism. Our first round resulted in two embryos. We lost both babies through early miscarriages. It was devastating, but we pushed ourselves to continue. Our second round was even harder. Amy developed OHSS and was hospitalised and was a really scary time for us. Unfortunately that round resulted in no embryos, and we walked away from IVF for over a year. After lots of saving, a lot of healing, reflection, and very honest conversations, we’ve found the strength to try again. We are both working 2 jobs and saving every penny we have! This time we’re pursuing RIVF, using Cian’s eggs and we are hoping and praying that this year - 2026 is the year we can begin growing our family.

 RIVF comes with significant costs:
Approximately £5,000 for the RIVF package
Medication costs that can be up to £2,000
Sperm Donor: £1.8k
Travel expenses: £??

We are continuing to save and store away what we can ourselves and keep adding to the little savings we have. Anything that we are able to put towards it means the world to us.

If you’re able to donate, we are incredibly grateful. If you’re not, sharing this or simply keeping us in your thoughts means just as much. Thank you for reading, and thank you for the kindness you’ve already shown us. We wouldn’t be here without it. — Cian & Amy
