Christy Lynn & Azalea Rose

My dear friend Christy Lynn a celebrated performance artist and creative director, has just lost the love her life Garth Edward Balcom III “Gino” on January 4, 2024. Gino, a detective for the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department recently transferred to Phoenix as a 20+ year veteran of the NYPD and a 9/11 first responder hero. His career in Phoenix was moving forward as he was just about to become sergeant of his department. After a year of dating and falling deeply in love with one another, Christy and Gino recently moved into a beautiful home together and had plans of taking their union to the next level by soon getting married. He wanted Christy and her 5-year-old daughter Azalea to be taken care of shall anything happen to him while on the job but unfortunately due to his sudden passing, they were unable to fulfill their dream of marriage. Little did they know, Gino had an unforeseen health condition of leukemia that quickly took his life after feeling dizzy and short of breath on the day he passed. On that fateful day of January 4th, as Christy and Gino held hands, confessing their unwavering love and adoration for one another, they planned to immediately wed as soon as he got out of the hospital. Right before her, Gino unexpectedly passed a few moments later as he went into cardiac arrest due to blood clots in his heart; there was nothing the doctors could do.

We are all devastated and heartbroken for our beloved Christy Lynn, her daughter Azalea Rose, Gino’s family and our Phoenix community. We are asking for any donations to help Christy and family navigate this tragic loss of her life partner as she will need help covering unforeseen expenses, their shared home costs and allow her time to grieve.
