On December 18, 2024, Christopher Scott, 24 years old, son, brother, grandson, and uncle, was in an accident. He rolled his vehicle and went into a telephone pole and was rescued with the jaws of life. He dislocated and broke his C6 and C7 vertebrae in his neck. He has undergone two surgeries to do spinal fusion on C4 through T1 and was taken off the ventilator and aspirated causing the need for a tracheostomy and spent over 2 weeks at Summa Hospital Akron ICU and is now in a specialized rehab at Select Specialty Hospital in Akron. Once he is off the ventilator he will learn to talk with the trach and once ready will be moved to another more intensive rehabilitation facility.
He is on a vent with a trach and paralyzed from the chest down. He will undergo extensive rehabilitation with high hopes of gaining function and walking again. His injuries were so severe his heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels rise and fall dramatically to dangerous levels. We are seeing positive signs, but it will be a very long road to recovery.
This fund is being created by his father Richard Scott, mother Crystal Moore and I to help with medical expenses, rehabilitation expenses, and travel expenses since Chris is getting care about an hour away, and possible handicap home renovations since Chris was living at home and our home is not handicap accessible in any way. We appreciate every donation, big or small. Please share this and pray even if you can't donate. Thank you.
