Christmas Tree Lane - Alameda, CA

Donation protected
Every December Thompson Avenue in Alameda, CA, turns into Christmas Tree Lane. Thousands of local visitors come to stroll the lane and see the decorations. Each one of the 50 houses on our block has something to offer, from painted wood cutouts of your favorite animated characters to a full-blown light show set to holiday music. The evergreen trees that line our street's median are strung with brilliant lights to add to the festive feel. Santa is there every night (weather permitting) to take pictures with the children and hear their wish lists. We love to see families enjoying our street and making memories they will cherish for years to come.

As residents of Christmas Tree Lane we are often asked who pays for the expense of lighting up the street. The answer is that the members of each household pay for their own lights/decorations and electricity. The lights that hang in our evergreen trees, which cost thousands of dollars to install and take down,  are paid for by the residents of Christmas Tree Lane, a donation from Alameda Municipal Power, and donations from visitors like you.

As our costs continue to increase each year, we are asking for help from our visitors to raise the money we need to keep the lights on. Reaching our goal of $5,000 will significantly decrease the additional funds we ask from our street's residents this year. If you enjoy the tradition of Christmas Tree Lane, please consider making a donation.

Happy Holidays, and we hope to see you soon on the Lane!
