This year, instead of exchanging gifts, I am raising money to provide a full Christmas dinner for the homeless, the less fortunate, and families staying at the Carbondale homeless shelter and warming center. The holidays can be the hardest time of year for people who are struggling, and I want to use this season as an opportunity to bring people together, spread kindness, and remind our community that no one is forgotten.

With the help of several friends, our goal is to prepare enough food to serve 40–60 people a warm, delicious meal on Christmas. We’ll be using the funds raised to purchase food ingredients, cooking supplies, disposable containers, drinks, and to cover delivery and transport costs. We also hope to include additional care bags with essentials for those we serve, making the holiday a little brighter for everyone.
