Hi I’m Michelle and I’ve worked in care for 34 years. Over the years I’ve been saddened by working in the community and seeing so many people on their own on Christmas Day.

Two years ago I approached a restaurant in Letchworth and asked if they would be willing to to open on Christmas Day, so that I could take the elderly there who would otherwise be on their own and give them a Christmas Day. They said yes.

My family and I give up our day now to ensure that elderly are not on their own. We invite people to the restaurant and give them a three course meal along with a quiz, a movie and a buffet to take home. We also ensure they have a stocking and a Christmas present.

Currently we have been mainly funding this ourselves but are struggling and asking people for any generous donations they would like to give.
