This Christmas, we have the opportunity to show support and care to the inmates of the Henry County Missouri Detention Center by bringing a little holiday cheer into their lives. For many, the holidays can be an especially difficult time, and a small gesture of kindness can make a world of difference. Our goal is to remind each person that they are not forgotten and that there is hope, even in the most challenging circumstances.

We are putting together Christmas bags for every inmate, each filled with thoughtful items to meet both practical and spiritual needs. Every bag will include food items like Ramen, chips, snack cakes, drink mixes, instant coffee, and holiday candy, as well as hygiene essentials such as small shampoo bottles, conditioner, toothpaste, and Q-tips. What makes these bags truly special are two meaningful additions: a Bible study to introduce the story of Jesus and the possibility of life-changing transformation, and two prepaid postage envelopes with Christmas cards. These cards give inmates the chance to reach out to their children or families, helping them stay connected during this important time of year.

We already provide Bibles to the inmates, but this year we want to take the next step by offering more resources and encouragement. We plan to assemble 100 bags, and with rising costs, we need your help to make this possible. We will gather to put the bags together on December 20th at the First Baptist Church, deliver them to the jail on the 22nd, and hand them out that evening after Inside Celebrate Recovery. Any amount you can give will help us reach our goal and bring hope to those who need it most. Thank you for helping us share the message of love, forgiveness, and grace this Christmas season.
