Hello, we are the Dutkas! God sent us to Mexico and we've been here for 3 years now. We've gotten to know members of the church we attend in Mezcales and the community where we volunteer in Jardines del Sol.

We wanted to do a first-ever fundraiser this Christmas to make 2-3 families' Christmas very special.

The first family I'd like to start with is Lupita's family! She has a husband and 3 sons. They started attending the church after we did, and while they've had a rough past, their story is inspiring.

Lupita and her family had to flee the state of Michoacan due to insecurity from organized crime. They came to Nayarit with nothing and found a house to rent. They prayed for a church to join and found Fuente de Vida, where I met her. Since meeting her, I have seen such beautiful changes and growth in their family.

They come every week to volunteer at the children's soup kitchen.

Right away, she put her son in the youth group, and honestly, I could tell he didn't want to be there. But after attending our first-ever youth group camp last spring, his heart softened, and he continues to open up and share with the teens. It's a joy to see his smile.

Lupita has a huge heart and often brings desserts or whatever she can make or do on her own to the soup kitchen. She even sang a beautiful song about God's love to the children on Children's Day in Mexico.

She has made it her mission for children to know Christ. She has little, but she gives with all her heart. Recently, she started opening up her home to children in the neighborhood. They are mostly boys so far, and she teaches them about God and Jesus and then feeds them. She also visits the sick and goes to share the word at her son's school as well. She is truly a light!

For this Christmas, we would love to buy her a stove/oven. She currently uses a 2-burner stove top and does not have an oven. She would like to bake and sell baked goods so she can make a living as well as serve the Lord in teaching and feeding the children in the neighborhood. We would also like to give her children presents. She has 3 boys. One of them is not in the pictures. Unfortunately, the son not photographed is in a rebellious stage, and they continue to pray for him.
