My name is Christian Buonanno and I am asking for donations for my Eagle Scout Project which I will be doing on May 18th and 19th. The Project will take place at John Paul Jones Park (Cannonball Park) in Bay Ridge. We will be creating a habitat for bees within two wrought iron fenced in areas. We will accomplish that by planting perennial flowers that attract bees and butterflies. These perennials include coneflowers, butterfly weed, yarrow, black-eyed Susan’s, and bee balm. This will not only be attractive but environmentally conscious at the same time. 

We will also be removing English ivy from the Verrazzano monument as it is an invasive plant and be replacing it with something else. We will create a 6-foot wide bed of native plants around the perimeter of the fenced-in area around both gardens.  
 
I will use the donations to purchase the perennial flowers mentioned above and some shrubs to create the borders. I will also use the donations for rototiller rentals as well as pizzas/water to feed our volunteers. Any remaining money will be donated to The Verrazzano Botanical Gardens.  I would greatly appreciate your donation to my project. Thank you!
