2026 UPDATE
For those new here, Christa made the difficult decision to come forward and report her husband after she found child pornography on his devices. Her husband was a police officer at the time and this decision changed everything—and set off a long and complex legal process.

After more than a year of proceedings, the criminal case was unfortunately dismissed without prejudice, due to police supposedly mishandling evidence. At this time, Christa is not able to speak about this further due to the possibility of him being charged again later based on other evidence.

While that outcome was not what was hoped for, it means this situation is not fully behind her. It could potentially be revisited in the future, but for now, it is not moving forward.

She is now facing the reality of returning to court for custody-related matters to keep her kids safe. The financial impact has been overwhelming and has already cost her $50k.

Over the past year, Christa has had to navigate:
-Losing health insurance just before the birth of her baby.
-She had to drain her small retirement account because her job as a nurse did not pay her while on maternity leave.
-Significant legal fees to protect her children and move through the divorce
-Increased housing costs after refinancing.
-Ongoing childcare and transportation expenses just to continue working.

Despite all of this, she has continued to show up for her children every single day—working night shifts, rebuilding, and doing everything she can to create a safe, stable life for them on her own. The support she previously received made a real, immediate difference. It was essential in helping her keep her home, provide for her children, pay for her lawyer and get through one of the most uncertain times in her life.

She is incredibly grateful for that support. We want to be transparent: there is no expectation for anyone to give again.

But the reality is, as she prepares for returning to court, legal representation is essential—and expensive. The financial strain is ongoing, and the need is real. If you have been wondering how to help, this is the moment.

Your support will go directly toward:
-Legal fees for upcoming custody proceedings.
-Maintaining stable housing and basic needs.
-Childcare and essential expenses for her children.

Even a small contribution makes a meaningful difference right now.

If you’re not in a position to give, sharing this page or continuing to keep her family in your thoughts helps more than you know.

Christa made a choice to protect her children and do what she knew was right. She continues to stand by that decision—and continues moving forward, one step at a time. Thank you for continuing to stand with her and her boys. ❤️

UPDATE FROM CHRISTA ON 3/27/2025-
“I truly will never have enough words to properly express my gratitude. What you did for me and my boys will never go unappreciated. This has been a very scary time for my family, but all of the help we have received, in so many different forms, has given us some peace. Most importantly having us in your thoughts and your supports means the most to us. I hope everyone remembers, none of the "things" in our life matter more than the love and safety we can give our children, friends and family. Thank you for supporting my own”. ❤️

Please read her story below, but know that any money raised from this will be used directly to pay for bills, utilities, the mortgage, groceries, diapers, wipes and any other baby items needed.

If you live in the Lansing area, you may have already seen a piece of her story on the news. While the news covered her soon-to-be EX husband’s arrest, it didn’t tell you where it leaves the wife that was brave enough to turn in a cop.

Christa and her boys lives have been completely flipped upside down in the last 2 months. For those that don’t know her, Christa is my youngest sister. She has a young son and is currently 35 weeks pregnant. After reporting her husband for having child pornography which led to his arrest and being fired from his job as a police officer, Christa will soon have no income and no health insurance. She currently works three jobs as an emergency room nurse at various health systems, but due to being PRN, her jobs do not offer benefits. Hers and her son’s health insurance was through her soon to be ex-husband’s employer. She is about to go on an unpaid maternity leave with no health benefits. Given the nature of his crimes, the likelihood of her receiving child support is very slim. In addition, she has lawyer fees that are quickly adding up and a mortgage that required both incomes to sustain. She is truly deserving and we aren’t asking for more than what can help her provide for herself and the boys through her maternity leave and hopefully the divorce proceedings.

Not only is she an incredible mother who has navigated this terrible situation with poise, she is an extremely humble person who would never ask for help from others. This has been truly a shock to all of us and her strength has been inspiring. It takes an immense amount of guts to report anyone for child pornography or abuse, but even more so when it is your husband who is the father of you kids and the person who provides your health insurance in such a critical time in a pregnancy.
