#EmpowerThroughPlay in Haiti & D.R.

Hey!
My name is Chris! I'm an Ithaca College grad and have been teaching Physical Education in Providence for over 3 years now . I truly enjoy advocating sports and fitness as a way for uniting people.
I am a very proud partner and volunteer with Empower Through Play-a non-profit profit program that collects new and used sneakers, cleats, and sports gear to benefit children in Refugee Camps and War-Torn countries.
Empower Through Play embodies the all of the qualities I truly believe in and I am excited to announce that I will be attending their next mission trip to the Dominican Republic and Haiti in March 2018! After seeing the amazing work Empower Through Play has done, I couldn't resist finding a way to join and be a part of this amazing movement.
I truly appreciate your time and consideration for donating. It means a lot to the #EmpowerThroughPlay team and all of the people who will directly impacted by your generosity!
About Empower Through Play:
Empower Through Play's programming focuses on healing communities and encouraging positive social interaction through health fitness and photography workshops designed for youth and young adults. The physical benefits of exercise manifest themselves mentally, in turn improving mental health, memory, focus, mood and the ability to cope. We believe exercise is medicine and can be used to build self-confidence, determination and overall quality of life. We believe that everyone deserves to look and feel their best and that the world would be a much better place if we helped more people be happy and healthy.
Each dollar, pair of athletic footwear, and equipment is greatly appreciated and will be given to those who truly need it most.
Donations will be used to:
-The transportation of the sneakers, cleats, equipment and myself to DR (via plane) and then across the Haitian border (via bus).
-The storage of the sneakers, cleat, and equipment donations.
-The purchase of bags big and strong enough to hold and transport donations.
-Resources for donation boxes, flyers, and necessary materials to be used during sneaker drives at partnering establishments.
-Website maintenance.
