Help Chris Recover Adoption Funds

Hi. My name is Pashmina, and I've created this campaign for my friend Chris, and his husband John who want to adopt a child.
I've known Chris for almost 20 years, and he is one of the kindest, most generous persons I know. A few years ago Chris shared with me that the two of them had begun adoption process to start a family. I was overjoyed! Chris and John can offer a loving, happy, healthy home to any child.
In the last two years, I've witnessed them take on the rigorous challenges of the adoption process, and the heartache that has come from opportunistic con artists wishing to scam hopeful couples like Chris and John.
Adoption is an expensive endeavor. Chris and John relied on Independent Adoption Center, a nonprofit based in California to help them through the process. They have paid almost $16,000 to the Center, and hundreds more in personal expenses for an adoption that has not happened. It was absolutely crushing to hear that without warning, the Center abruptly closed and has decided to file for bankruptcy.

Not only will Chris and John likely not see any money back from the Center, but after 2 hopeful years, they will need to start the entire process over again.
That's where you come in. With your help, we can make Chris and John’s dream of adoption come true. I believe we can find an adoption agency that can help them. My personal ask to you is that this process for them be made easier by taking away the financial burden they’ll now have to incur TWICE to make this a reality.
Please consider joining us in our efforts with a donation of $25 or more to pay for adoption services and expenses. Any excess funds not used for adoption services/expenses will be donated to Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, a nonprofit charity dedicated solely to finding permanent homes for the more than 110,000 children in foster care.
