Chris' Courage

Chris has been battling Brain Cancer since 2014. It all started 1 month after graduating from Texas State University when he had his first seizure. He was airlifted to the hospital in Austin, where he was diagnosed with a Grade 2 Astrocytoma. After undergoing surgery and removing the tumor, he went through rehab due to losing the ability to walk or talk. During this time, he also went through 10 months of chemo and 6 weeks of radiation. Chris recovered and was able to do what he loved which is teach children. He went to Taiwan in 2019 to teach English as a second language to young children. In early 2020 he came home to do a routine scan/check up where they found a new growth. Chris would spend the next 6 months doing chemo again. Unable to travel he continued to do what he loved and taught children online in China while receiving treatment. In April of 2022 Chris MRI showed definite new growth and they were growing at a rapid rate. He went into surgery where they removed most of the tumor but it showed to be Grade 4 Astrocytoma this time. Not even 2 weeks later Chris ended up in the ER and found the tumor was back and growing rapidly. Since June 2022 he has been doing chemo where they were seeing progress but unfortunately September 2nd the scan showed new growth. The doctors have told him they will try a new regiment of chemo but only give him a prognosis of a year.
Anyone who knows Chris knows he's a fighter and not willing to give up. He’s no stranger to anyone and always will wave as you pass him. Cancer and treatments have taken a toll on him. Between fatigue and chronic pain we don’t see that friendly neighbor walking the neighborhood waving to everyone. He has not been able to work since April and he needs your help to get him through this. The funds that will be raised will go to his care, which he needs to get him comfortable and to help with the expenses of travel, medical bills, treatment, medications and everyday things to help him. He also wishes to see a beautiful place. He and his family are also looking into going to Mexico to go the holistic route. There is a hospital there that has had some success stories. He is willing to try and do anything at this point to beat this. That is why I'm making this account to help get him to that hospital or to go see that beautiful place and keep him comfortable. Financials should be the last of his or his family's worry right now. Anything will help and if you can't donate please send a prayer his way and to his loving family.
