Chris and Kye run the Valencia Marathon for Down Syndrome UK
Down’s syndrome is when you’re born with an extra chromosome. People who have Down’s syndrome will have some level of learning disability. Chris has grown up with two brothers with Down syndrome, Daniel and Brendan, so this is a cause close to his heart.
Daniel and Brendan are now in their 40s and slowing down a bit, but still spread joy wherever they go. Whether it's Daniel obsessively checking over the football scores for his beloved Chelsea (don't judge) or spontaneously breaking into a sprint (running is clearly a family trait) or Brendan entertaining everyone with a dramatic showtune (phantom and the sound of music being firm favourites), they bring so much happiness to each other and all of our family and friends. This charity seeks to provide positive information about down syndrome, to parents and others at what can be a scary and daunting time. Whatever we can raise to help will be very gratefully received.
On 1st December 2024 we will aim to dip under the 3 hour mark at the Valencia Marathon!
