Every few years I grow my hair out, let people pick a genuinely terrible haircut, and raise money for a good cause. This year we're going bigger and we're attempting to break a Guinness World Record.
The current record for the world's most expensive haircut is £8,000. So the challenge is simple: can we raise more than that, and can you be part of the record?
Here is how it works. My good friend and barber Anthony Hutton (whose idea this was - cheers, mate) will perform the winning cut live on stage at Plannex Live on 9th July 2026. There are three options, and they are all genuinely horrendous:
Team A: R9 Ronaldo, the World Cup chunk on the front of the head. Early favourite.
Team B: Peter Wright, the green Mohican. A darts legend's finest work.
Team C: Ibiza Final Boss, no further explanation required.
Every donation is a vote - and here's how you cast it. When you donate, you'll see a comment box. Just write A, B or C (or the team name) to back your haircut. Whichever style raises the most money is the one I'm stuck with - shaved live on stage, and kept for a full week. No take backs.
So please donate, vote for the haircut you'd most like to see ruin my life, and help us smash a world record for a brilliant cause.
Fully invested. Literally.
HOW THE MONEY WILL BE USED
We want to support 4 small projects/charities within local communities. We’re asking you to email rohans @ plannex. co.uk with a pitch, and in no more than 250 words tell us why your community project/charity deserves a quarter of the total money raised.
Our goal is to raise more than £8,000 to break the Guinness World Record for the world's most expensive haircut. Every pound counts toward both the record and the cause and 100% of it is going to make real impact in local communities.
