VOTING CLOSED: Choose My Surname for a Good Cause

I've entered a new era and I need a new surname to match! I'm outsourcing this mammoth decision to YOU- my trusted, creative, beloved friends and family, through a nomination and voting system.

For those unaware, in 2016 I got married and took my partner's surname, Allen. As fond as I am of the way 'Mia Adelaide Allen' rolls off the tongue, now that Tom and I have parted ways and divorce papers are filed it's time for a fresh, exciting, possibly ridiculous new surname. Have your say, and help me raise funds for a great cause!

Acknowledging the privilege it is to bring this chapter to a close by choice, and the gratitude I have for my safe and loving relationship with Tom, I will be using this opportunity to raise funds for HUSK.

HUSK (Housing Unicorns & Solidarity Kittens) is a network for people that face gender based oppression operating on the land of the Wurundjeri-willam of the Woiwurrung language and belief group, in Narrm/Birarranga (Melbourne). HUSK uses empty buildings to provide housing and to create safer spaces for noncismen, because unused property is a waste, an injustice and an ongoing tool of dispossession. They are committed to supporting and listening to survivors of all kinds of violence and enacting transformation through harm minimization and prevention.

I will be accepting nominations of surname options (from those who donate at least $50) until the end of July, then votes will commence and be accepted (from those who donate at least $15) until my birthday on August 25th.

All suggestions welcome, I am up for anything! Although, as I'm sure you all can understand, I maintain ultimate veto power. May this free you up to give your wackiest suggestions!
