Chloe & Casey's Mitzvah Project
Donation protected
Dear Friends & Family,
In honor of our upcoming Bat Mitzvahs, we have decided to join Westchester Reform Temple's Mitzvah Corps to bring more meaning to this important time in our lives. We will be volunteering at the Coachman Family Shelter in White Plains throughout this upcoming year, getting to know the families who live there, and throwing a party in the Spring for the kids who have made the shelter their home.
We also wanted to go a step further and hold a charity exercise class to benefit the shelter. We learned from the people who work there that the upcoming holiday season can be very stressful for these families, so we have decided to try to raise $1000 to buy holiday gifts for the kids who live there. We are hopeful our donation will help bring some holiday happiness to the kids, and some relief to their parents.
Please help us reach our goal by donating whatever you can!
Thank you so much!
We look forward to celebrating with all of you!

About the Coachman Shelter:
*The Coachman Shelter provides temporary, transitional housing to families whose previous living arrangements have become unsafe. This might mean something as simple as a fire or flood has made their former home unsafe, or something more serious, like cases of domestic violence or drug abuse.
*Only families (at least one parent and one child) are allowed to stay the Shelter -- not individual adults. The shared experience of being there as a family helps to ensure the safety of all the residents.
*The Shelter has 100 private rooms -- each of them able to accommodate a small family.
*Some families might stay at the Shelter for as little as a weekend. Other families might stay for as long as 6 months.
*The Coachman Shelter is the largest family shelter in Westchester. Its residents come from towns all over the county.
